Manners and etiquette play a huge part in my design process. In my opinion, manners are intrinsically linked to our appreciation for food. The minute we take for granted the process of eating is the moment our manners change for the worse. Bad manners are a direct occurrence of a lack of focus and presence within the eating process.

Manners Mats are a series of bold, colourful placemats made from Jesmonite, a composite gypsum-based material combined with acrylic resin. Each placemat features a dining prompt that encourages diners to think about the ways they are eating/drinking. These hints are not there to offend; they are there to remind diners to remain present and focused throughout mealtimes.
